The SmallRig 5542 Mobile Video Cage for iPhone 17 Pro (Flagship Edition) is a versatile expansion system designed to turn your phone into a capable production tool for video shooting, livestreaming, and short-form filmmaking.

This complete kit includes a protective phone case, a video cage, and a soft TPU bumper for flexible setup options. The case comes with a T-mount rear plate and a 17mm threaded lens mount, making it easy to attach external optics. For even more creative control, the T-mount plate can be swapped for a 67mm magnetic filter adapter (sold separately).

Flexible Mounting for Accessories and Optics

The cage is equipped with multiple 1/4"-20 anti-twist mounting points and cold shoe attachments, giving you room to add handles, microphones, lights, tripods, and other accessories. Quick release interfaces support fast transitions between handheld and tripod shooting, while the side strap slots are compatible with professional wrist and shoulder straps under 2 mm in diameter.

An open-frame design keeps access to all essential iPhone functions, including buttons, ports, the radar system, the ultra-wide lens, and wireless charging. The secure locking system helps you attach and remove your phone quickly while reducing the risk of accidental release.

Protection and Everyday Convenience

With its full-metal construction, this cage offers strong protection against impact, scratches, and daily wear. The phone can be mounted with the case attached for quick switching between everyday use and pro-level shooting. For specialized setups such as underwater filming or high-cooling environments, the phone can also be mounted directly in the cage with the included soft TPU bumper.
