SmallRig 6152 Floating Grip For Action Cameras
SmallRig 6152 Floating Grip For Action Cameras | Keep your camera close on the water
SmallRig 6152 Floating Grip For Action Cameras is a floating hand grip for keeping an action camera afloat during water-based filming. It suits people who want to record near the water, from a boat or while swimming, and prefer a hand-held grip to carrying the camera loose between clips. The product’s name makes its purpose clear: it gives you a place to hold your action camera, with a floating design intended to help keep it at the surface if it slips from your hand. That makes it most relevant for casual water outings and action footage where keeping the camera nearby matters. Its role is practical rather than creative; it won’t change how your camera records, but it gives you a dedicated way to hold it around the water. If that’s the kind of filming you do, the appeal is easy to understand.
Think about the moments when you want to keep filming but also need a comfortable way to hold the camera near the water. This grip is made for that straightforward job. It’s an accessory with a specific purpose, rather than an addition intended to alter your camera’s settings or recording style. For everyday action-camera use away from water, its floating design may be less relevant; its value is tied to filming around water and having the camera in your hand.
Specialist Note
People filming from a boat, at the shoreline or in the pool are the ones I’d point toward the SmallRig 6152. The grip gives you a defined place to hold the action camera, which is handy when you want to keep it ready for a quick clip instead of setting it down between shots. Its floating design is the other part that matters: if the camera slips, the grip is intended to help keep it at the surface. I’d use it for close, hand-held footage around water and keep hold of it rather than relying on it to drift back to you. It’s a focused accessory; the benefit is flotation and handling, not extra camera functions.
