SmallRig Advanced V-Mount Battery Mount Plate w/ Dual 15mm Rod Clamp 3203B
SmallRig Advanced V-Mount Battery Mount Plate w/ Dual 15mm Rod Clamp 3203B | Add battery mounting to a handheld rig
Without a dedicated mounting plate, a handheld video rig can leave you working out where a V-mount battery belongs. The SmallRig Advanced V-Mount Battery Mount Plate 3203B brings that mounting role into a shoulder-rig setup, using a dual 15mm rod clamp. It suits video makers who want extra support for handheld camera work and are building their rig around 15mm rods. This is most useful when you’re shaping a shoulder setup for a longer take or a moving shot: the plate gives the V-mount battery a defined place in the rig, while the product’s shoulder-rig role is aimed at supporting handheld work. It’s a focused rig component, rather than a complete camera support system. If you’re choosing parts for a handheld build, think about how the battery plate and rod clamp fit the layout you already intend to use.
Where it fits in a shoulder rig
This plate is for a particular job within a larger setup: mounting a V-mount battery by way of a dual 15mm rod clamp. That makes it relevant when you’re planning a handheld rig with rods, rather than looking for a standalone way to support a camera. Consider the way you want to arrange your rig before adding parts, so the battery mount has a clear place in your build. For handheld video work, the aim is a supported camera setup you can operate as a shoulder rig.
Specialist Note
For a two-rod shoulder setup on a handheld interview, I’d consider this plate when I want the V-mount battery to have a defined mounting point in the rig. The dual 15mm rod clamp tells you what kind of build it belongs in: a rod-based setup, not a universal attachment. Its V-mount battery plate gives that battery a dedicated role in the layout, which helps keep the rig plan deliberate. It suits video makers building a supported handheld setup for interviews or moving shots. One thing to keep in mind: it’s a rig component, so you’ll need the rest of your shoulder setup around it to support the camera.
