SmallRig SR4622 RC 220B Pro COB LED Video Light UK 4622 | Continuous light for video work

SmallRig SR4622 RC 220B Pro COB LED Video Light UK 4622 is a COB LED light for continuous video lighting. It’s aimed at people making video who want a light that stays on while they work, rather than a flash that fires for a single exposure. That makes it useful when you’re setting up a talking-head shot, recording a demonstration or adding light to a small production. You can see how the light falls on your subject as you frame and record, which makes changes to its position easier to judge. Its clearest purpose is video; the title doesn’t give a power rating or other performance figures, so I wouldn’t choose it on an assumed brightness level. Start with the space you’re lighting and the look you want. It’s a straightforward type of tool, but placement still matters.

Move the light and you change the direction of the shadows and the way your subject reads on camera. Bringing it closer can make the light feel more prominent; moving it farther away changes how it covers the scene. Those are general principles of lighting, not a claim about a particular control or output on this model. For a simple recording setup, think about where the subject will sit, what the background looks like and whether the light’s position will fit around the camera. A continuous source is handy here because you can assess the result before you press record.

If you’re comparing video lights, use the details of your own setup to guide the decision: the room, the distance to your subject and the kind of shot you’re making. The product name identifies this as the RC 220B Pro, but gives no further performance figures to weigh up. I’d treat it as a purpose-built continuous video light, then base any more specific choice on the needs of your shoot rather than guessing at capabilities.
