Sony CPL Filter w/ Een Diameter Van 62mm

Sony CPL Filter 62mm | Manage reflections and deepen skies

Sony CPL Filter 62mm is a circular polarizing filter with a 62mm diameter, made for photographers whose lenses take this filter size. It’s especially useful for landscapes, water and scenes viewed through glass, where reflections can compete with the subject. A CPL lets you adjust how much polarized light reaches the camera, helping to reduce some reflections and bring more definition to blue skies. The effect changes with your angle to the light, so it’s something to judge as you frame the shot rather than set once and forget. This filter is best suited to photographers who want more control over glare and reflections in bright outdoor scenes. It won’t remove every reflection, and it can reduce the light reaching the camera, so you may need to compensate with your exposure. The 62mm measurement is the key detail when matching it to a lens.

Getting the most from a CPL

Look through the viewfinder or at the screen and rotate the filter slowly while watching the reflection or sky. Stop when the effect looks right; maximum polarization isn’t always the most natural result. For water, this can help reveal detail beneath surface glare when the angle is suitable. For skies, the effect is often strongest when shooting roughly at a right angle to the sun. If the scene darkens, adjust exposure as needed. Reflections from metal aren’t corrected in the same way, so a CPL won’t solve every kind of glare.
