Sunwayfoto Universal ArcaSwiss Lever-Release Clamp SLC-60B
Sunwayfoto Universal ArcaSwiss Lever-Release Clamp SLC-60B | Quick camera changes with a lever
Mount a camera on an Arca-Swiss-compatible tripod setup and release it again with a lever, keeping camera changes quick between landscape compositions or studio setups. The Sunwayfoto Universal ArcaSwiss Lever-Release Clamp SLC-60B is a replacement quick-release clamp with a 60 mm width and lever-operated locking. It’s intended for replacing a clamp that doesn’t accept Arca-Swiss-compatible plates, or one that uses a screw control. That makes it a useful part to consider when a tripod setup needs a different style of camera release, rather than a complete change of support. The quick-release format is especially handy when moving a camera between positions during a landscape session, or when alternating between camera setups on a tripod for tabletop work. A built-in level is another thoughtful detail for framing scenes where a straight horizon matters. The clamp’s lightweight aluminium construction keeps the accessory itself easy to carry with tripod gear. With its black finish and compact footprint, it’s a focused upgrade for photographers who already work with Arca-Swiss-compatible equipment and prefer a lever to a screw-operated clamp.
Stability and setup
- Lever-operated release: The handle controls the clamp’s release, so attaching and removing a camera doesn’t require turning a screw knob. It’s a straightforward control for frequent changes between tripod positions.
- Arca-Swiss compatibility: The clamp is made for Arca-Swiss-compatible plates. This makes it a replacement option when an existing clamp doesn’t accept that plate type.
- Quick-release design: Its QR format is intended for repeat camera attachment and removal. That suits setups where the camera needs to come off the tripod between tasks.
- Built-in level: A level is integrated into the clamp to give you a reference while setting up a frame. It’s particularly relevant when keeping a horizon straight is important.
- Aluminium construction: The clamp is made from aluminium, keeping the accessory lightweight while providing a solid metal construction for tripod use.
- Compact dimensions: It measures 74 × 60 mm, so it occupies a defined, compact area on a tripod setup. The stated width is 60 mm.
- Black finish: The clamp has a black finish, a simple, low-key match for many tripod accessories.
Specialist Note
The built-in level is a small detail with a clear purpose: it gives you a reference for keeping a landscape horizon straight while composing. I’d point this clamp out to someone replacing a screw-operated fitting who wants a lever release and already uses Arca-Swiss-compatible plates. For a landscape setup, use the level as a framing reference before settling on the composition; for studio tabletop work, the quick-release format suits moving the camera off the tripod between arrangements. The aluminium construction keeps the clamp itself light, rather than adding a bulky accessory to your support kit. One point to keep in mind is compatibility: it’s for Arca-Swiss-compatible plates, not a universal match for every plate format. For the right setup, it’s a neat, focused replacement part.
