Tilta TK-IP-ND18-B Khronos Magnetic FSND 1.8 Filter For iPhone - Black
Tilta TK-IP-ND18-B Khronos Magnetic FSND 1.8 Filter For iPhone - Black | Control bright light while filming
Without a neutral-density filter, bright conditions can leave you choosing between a faster shutter and a darker image. The Tilta TK-IP-ND18-B is a magnetic FSND 1.8 filter for iPhone, made for controlling the light reaching the camera while you record. It suits iPhone filmmakers who want more say over exposure in daylight, particularly when they’re aiming for natural-looking motion rather than the crisp, staccato effect a very fast shutter can create. The 1.8 density corresponds to six stops of light reduction, giving you a substantial change in exposure to work with. Because it attaches magnetically, it’s also a practical option for people who want to add or remove a filter as their shooting conditions change. This is a focused tool for managing light, not a general-purpose image effect; its value is greatest when excess brightness is getting in the way of the look you want.
Specialist Note
Does the Tilta Khronos FSND 1.8 make sense for iPhone video in daylight? Yes, if you want to keep a slower shutter in bright conditions instead of letting the phone push it higher. The 1.8 density takes away six stops of light, so you have meaningful room to hold that look when filming outdoors. Its magnetic design is useful when light levels shift and you want to change your setup without treating the filter as a permanent fixture. I’d point it toward iPhone users making motion-focused clips in strong daylight. The honest trade-off is that six stops is a sizeable reduction, so it may be more than you need in dimmer scenes.
