Ulanzi CK01 Cka Quick Release Basic Kit | A quick-release tripod accessory

Without a quick-release accessory, changing a tripod setup can mean handling the camera attachment every time you want to switch what you’re doing. The Ulanzi CK01 Cka Quick Release Basic Kit is a tripod accessory for photographers who want a quick-release option in that workflow. It may suit a home studio, a desk setup or a camera that regularly moves between tripod use and handheld use. Its name tells you the intended role, but not the mounting details, so I wouldn’t assume it fits a particular camera or tripod without checking those separately. Think of it as a small part of the support setup, rather than an accessory that changes how your camera takes pictures. If your tripod stays set up and your camera rarely comes off it, you may have little reason to add a release accessory. It makes most sense when changing between setups is part of your routine.

Specialist Note

At a one-tripod desk setup, I’d make the camera’s move-on, move-off routine part of the decision. The CK01 is identified as a tripod accessory, so I’d think of it as part of the support arrangement, not a camera control. “Quick Release” is the key wording in its name: it points to a workflow built around changing the camera’s attachment, which can be handy when you alternate between a fixed tabletop frame and handheld work. The name also calls it a Basic Kit, so I’d keep expectations focused on that core role rather than assume extra functions. It won’t choose your framing for you; I’d still settle the tripod position before starting a repeatable desk shot.
