Urth 43mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 43mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | Softer highlights with a subtle mist effect
Soften bright highlights and give light sources a gentle glow with a white mist effect. The Urth 43mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ is a magnetic filter in a 43mm size, made for photographers who want a less crisp, more atmospheric rendering without changing lenses. It can suit portraits, evening street scenes and indoor images where lamps or reflections are part of the picture; the softened highlights help those bright points feel less hard against the rest of the frame. The look is especially useful when you want a little visual softness while keeping the scene recognisable, rather than turning the whole image into an obvious effect. Its magnetic fitting is handy if you like to add or remove the filter as the light changes. Keep in mind that a mist effect changes the rendering of the image, so it won’t suit every scene or every preferred style.
Specialist Note
Hard pinpoints of light can make a portrait or night scene feel sharper and more clinical than you intended; this filter gives you a way to soften that impression in-camera. The 43mm size means you’ll need a matching 43mm filter setup, so check that size against the lens you plan to use. Its magnetic fitting is useful when you want to move between a cleaner image and a gentler, glowing look without leaving the filter on for every frame. I’d consider it for portraits near a window or street scenes with lamps in the composition: fit it when you want the highlights to bloom softly, then remove it when you prefer crisp light. It’s a deliberate look, not an all-purpose filter.
