Urth 49mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro
Urth 49mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro | Control glare and deepen skies
Cutting reflections from water, glass and glossy leaves is the job here: a circular polariser can reveal detail beneath surface glare and give blue skies stronger contrast when the light is at the right angle. The Urth 49mm Magnetic CPL Filter Pro is a 49mm circular polarising filter for photographers who want that control in camera. It suits landscape work, travel scenes and everyday pictures with windows or water in frame, especially when reflections are hiding colour or texture. A polariser’s effect changes as you move around the subject, so it rewards a little attention to your position and the light. Use it when glare is part of the scene, rather than leaving it on for every shot; the difference is most useful when you can see what the reflections are concealing.
Specialist Note
Reflections can wipe out the colour and detail you wanted to photograph; this filter gives you a way to reduce them at the point of capture. The magnetic attachment makes it handy if you want to add or remove the filter as a scene changes. For fit, match its 49mm size to a lens that takes 49mm filters. For water, shift your position until the reflected light is less direct, then judge how much detail comes through. For a blue sky, try shooting with the sun roughly at your side, where polarisation is often strongest. One honest caveat: the effect depends on your angle to the light, so it won’t remove every reflection from every viewpoint.
