Urth 67mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+
Urth 67mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus+ | Gentle highlight glow
The defining appeal of the Urth Ethereal White Mist Filter is its softer, more atmospheric rendering: bright highlights can take on a gentle glow, lending portraits and night scenes a less clinical feel. It suits photographers who want that look in-camera rather than adding it later, especially when a scene includes visible light sources or strong highlights. Use it for portraits with a soft, dreamy character, or when point lights in an evening scene could benefit from a subtle bloom. The effect is part of the image, so it’s a creative filter rather than a neutral option for keeping every scene crisp and unaltered. Its magnetic design also makes it appealing if you like to change your filter setup while working. Choose it for a considered visual mood, not as an all-purpose filter for every photograph.
Specialist Note
67mm is the filter diameter, so match that number to the filter thread on your lens. The magnetic fitting is handy if you want to switch to this softer look without repeatedly screwing a filter into place; it’s particularly appealing when you move between a clean rendering and a more atmospheric one. For a portrait, try keeping a bright window near the edge of the frame; for an evening scene, include a few point lights so the mist effect has something to work with. One honest point: this isn’t the filter to reach for when you want the crispest, most neutral rendering.
