Urth 72 95mm Magnetic Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter
Urth 72 95mm Magnetic Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter | Connect your lens to a larger magnetic filter
Urth 72 95mm Magnetic Step Up Ring Lens Filter Adapter joins a smaller lens filter thread to a larger magnetic filter format. It’s built for photographers who want to use that larger filter system with a lens that has a smaller thread, rather than buying a separate filter for every lens size. The step-up ring is the connection between the two; the magnetic design is for attaching a compatible filter. That makes it especially handy when you’re putting together a filter setup for several lenses with different thread sizes. It’s an adapter, not a filter, so it won’t change exposure or reflections on its own. Its value is in making the filter you choose usable on the lens with the matching smaller thread, while keeping the setup focused on the magnetic format. If that’s the system you already use, this is a straightforward way to bridge the size difference.
Specialist Note
Landscape photographers switching between lenses with different filter threads are the people I’d point toward this ring. The step-up design lets you use a larger filter format on a lens with a smaller thread, which can be a tidy way to build one shared filter setup instead of collecting a different size for each lens. For a long exposure, fit a compatible magnetic ND filter through this adapter, then choose your exposure time for the water or clouds you want to blur. It can also help when you want to use a compatible magnetic filter for a particular scene without changing your lens. Just remember, the ring itself doesn’t filter light; it’s the link, so you’ll need the matching magnetic filter as well.
