Urth 72mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro
Urth 72mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro | Control light and reflections with one filter
Urth 72mm Variable ND2 32 + CPL Filter Pro combines variable light reduction, from ND2 to ND32, with a circular polarising filter. It’s for photographers who want to manage bright light and reflected glare using one filter on a lens with a matching 72mm filter thread. The variable ND function lets you reduce the light reaching the camera, while the CPL function helps manage reflections and glare. That makes this filter particularly suited to outdoor scenes with reflective surfaces, or bright conditions where you want more control over exposure. Its appeal is the combination of those two filter functions in a single 72mm product. If you regularly change lenses with different filter diameters, though, this specific size may not fit every lens in your kit.
In practice, ND and polarising effects address different things: ND reduces the light reaching the camera, while polarisation can reduce reflections. For a bright waterside scene, that means you can use the variable ND to allow a slower shutter speed and use the CPL function to help tame glare on the water. The result depends on the scene and your exposure settings, so treat the filter as a way to adjust your options, rather than a preset look.
Specialist Note
At midday beside a canal, bright reflections can compete with the detail you want to photograph. This filter brings two relevant tools together: its variable ND2–32 range lets you reduce incoming light, and the CPL function can help cut reflected glare. If you’re photographing moving water, add ND to make a slower shutter speed possible, then set exposure for the look you want; use the CPL effect to manage reflections. I’d suggest it to someone who often shoots outdoors and wants both functions in one filter. The practical catch is its 72mm size: it’s for a lens with a matching filter diameter, not a universal fit across a kit.
