Urth 77mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro
Urth 77mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro | Create longer exposures in daylight
In bright daylight, moving water can look frozen when your camera needs a fast shutter speed. The Urth 77mm ND64 (6 Stop) Lens Filter Pro reduces the light reaching the lens, giving you room to choose a slower shutter speed and show motion as a softer blur. It’s a neutral density filter for photographers who want more control over exposure in bright conditions, especially when working with flowing water or movement in a landscape. The 77mm size is for a lens with a matching filter thread. A six-stop reduction is substantial, so it’s best suited to situations where you want a clearly slower exposure, rather than a small adjustment. Choose it for deliberate long-exposure effects; it won’t replace a lighter ND filter when you only need a modest change.
Specialist Note
The 77mm ring is the detail to match to your lens’s filter thread first; getting that right makes it straightforward to use this filter on the lens it fits. Its ND64 rating means a six-stop reduction, which gives you a practical way to stretch a bright-day exposure: for example, a shutter speed around 1/125 sec can become roughly 1/2 sec at the same aperture and ISO. That’s enough to soften the movement of a stream or give passing clouds a more fluid look. I’d recommend it to someone who specifically wants long-exposure effects in daylight. One limitation: six stops is a fixed, fairly strong cut, so it can be too much when the light is already low.
