Urth Lens Mount Adapter M39 Lens To Leica M Camera Body (50-75mm Frame Lines)
Urth Lens Mount Adapter M39 Lens To Leica M Camera Body (50-75mm Frame Lines) | Use M39 lenses on a Leica M body
An M39 lens can be hard to put to use if your camera body takes a different mount. This Urth lens mount adapter is made to connect an M39 lens to a Leica M camera body, with frame lines for the 50–75mm range. It’s for photographers who already have an M39 lens and want to use it on a Leica M body, without changing the lens that drew them to that focal length in the first place. The stated frame-line range also helps you judge whether a particular lens suits this setup: it covers 50mm through 75mm. That makes the adapter most relevant when your intended use falls within those focal lengths. Its purpose is specific: joining an M39 lens and a Leica M camera body, rather than serving as a general-purpose adapter for other combinations.
Specialist Note
At 50mm, I’d use the matching frame lines as my starting point for composing with an M39 lens on a Leica M body. That’s the useful detail here: the adapter is for this particular lens-to-body pairing, and its stated frame-line range runs from 50mm to 75mm. If your M39 lens is 75mm, use the 75mm lines to guide your framing; for a 50mm lens, start with the 50mm lines. It suits someone with a lens already chosen, not someone looking for a universal adapter. The honest limit is that its stated range stops at 75mm, so keep the focal length of your intended lens in mind.
