Wimberley AP-620 - low-profile Arca-type replacement foot

The foot supplied with a long zoom provides a tripod mounting point, but its taller profile leaves more room for flex. The Wimberley AP-620 is a low-profile replacement foot for the Sony 200-600 f/5.6 G OSS, bringing the lens closer to the tripod head. That lower position improves balance and reduces bending and vibration compared with the original foot. For wildlife photography, the steadier support is useful when tracking distant birds or animals through the viewfinder; for a tripod-mounted session, improved balance makes it easier to keep the lens positioned comfortably. The foot is Arca-type compatible, so it can be secured directly in a matching clamp. Its double dovetail design also provides attachment points on both the top and bottom, leaving the lower side available for the tripod while allowing an accessory to be fitted above. Wimberley has also included two safety stops, a thoughtful detail for anyone handling a heavy lens around a partly opened clamp. This is a purpose-made replacement for the specified Sony lens, rather than a general-purpose plate, with threaded connections also provided for tripod heads without an Arca-type clamp.
