It’s a good fit for establishing a location, following movement through an interior or keeping foreground and background in the composition. The 16mm perspective is most compelling when the width of a room, street or landscape is part of the story, rather than just extra scenery. Camera distance matters with such a wide view: move close to a foreground subject and it will feel more prominent against what sits behind it. If you need a tighter, less expansive view, this isn’t the focal length for that job.
