XEEN Meister 24mm T1.3 Sony E (Meter)
XEEN Meister 24mm T1.3 Sony E (Meter) | A wide view for cinematic scenes
Give scenes more room without stepping far back. The XEEN Meister is an interchangeable wide-angle prime for Sony E, made for video and filmmaking. Its broad view is useful when you want to establish a location, include more of an interior, or keep the surroundings part of a character’s story. It suits filmmakers who prefer to build shots deliberately and work with a dedicated cinema lens rather than a general-purpose photography zoom. On a set, that wider perspective can help communicate the relationship between a subject and the space around them; careful framing keeps the scene intentional instead of simply making everything look distant. It’s a focused option for scripted work, short films and other productions where each frame is planned. The lens uses manual focus, so it’s best suited to a workflow where the operator or focus puller can guide focus as the action unfolds.
Specialist Note
T1.3 gives you a bright maximum aperture, which is especially useful when you want to keep a scene moving in low light without immediately relying on extra lighting. At 24mm, you can frame an actor with more of the room in view, making it a natural fit for establishing shots or close work in a tight interior. I’d plan the composition carefully: a wide view includes plenty of surroundings, so distracting edges can creep into frame. Manual focus suits a considered cinema setup, where focus changes are part of the shot rather than left to autofocus. This is a lens for filmmakers who enjoy that hands-on control; for fast, unpredictable action, it calls for a steady focus hand.
