Dulens ATP50B-PL APO Triassic Prime 50 T2.8 PL Mnt Color: Black
Dulens ATP50B-PL APO Triassic Prime 50 T2.8 PL Mount, Black | A 50mm prime for PL cinema setups
Choosing a cinema prime can be frustrating when you need a particular focal length and a clearly marked exposure setting, without extra zoom range. The Dulens ATP50B-PL APO Triassic Prime gives you a fixed 50mm focal length and a T2.8 setting in a cinema lens. It suits filmmakers and camera crews building a PL-mount setup around deliberate, repeatable framing. A 50mm prime can be a considered fit for dialogue scenes, interviews or other planned shots where you can set the camera position to suit the composition. T2.8 gives you a defined aperture setting to work with as you balance exposure on set. This is a straightforward option when your shot calls for this focal length; it isn’t a zoom for changing framing from the camera position. The finish is black.
Specialist Note
“Does this Dulens come with a PL mount?” Yes—the ATP50B-PL is the PL-mount version, so it’s aimed at crews working with a PL setup. I’d consider it for a planned interview or a dialogue shot where you can settle the camera position and compose around a fixed prime, rather than needing to zoom during a take. That fixed focal length is also its main limitation: if the framing needs to change, you’ll need to move the camera or adjust the setup. If that suits your way of working, the 50mm and T2.8 designation make this a specific, easy-to-identify prime for a cinema lens kit.
