Kondor Blue KB-MB-CLAR Matte Box Cine Lens Clamping Adapter Ring-Set
Kondor Blue KB-MB-CLAR Matte Box Cine Lens Clamping Adapter Ring-Set | Connect a cine lens to a matte box
The defining detail of the Kondor Blue KB-MB-CLAR is its clamping adapter-ring design for connecting a cine lens and a matte box. It’s aimed at filmmakers and camera teams building a cine setup who need an adapter ring set for that particular junction. Rather than being a lens or a matte box itself, this product serves as the link between them. That focused role is what makes it useful: it addresses the lens-to-matte-box connection, not broader rigging needs. If you’re assembling a cine camera package, it’s worth considering when you need this kind of clamping adapter in the setup. The product name identifies its intended use, but doesn’t establish which lens diameters or matte-box models it fits. Treat it as a specific interface component, and check that the exact size and fit you need are established for your rig before relying on it.
A focused part of a cine setup
An adapter ring set has a practical, defined place in a camera package: at the point where a cine lens meets a matte box. The KB-MB-CLAR is named for that clamping connection. It’s not a replacement for either piece of equipment, and it doesn’t tell you which particular lens or matte-box combination to use. Its appeal is that it’s made for this one task, rather than being a general camera accessory.
Specialist Note
One adapter ring-set is the part to consider when you need a clamping link between a cine lens and a matte box. I’d look at it for a cine camera package where that lens-to-matte-box connection is part of the build; place the adapter at that junction to bring the two components together. The clamping design is the detail to focus on in use, because this is specifically an adapter for that interface. It suits filmmakers and camera teams working with cine lenses and matte boxes. One honest point: the name doesn’t tell us the fit dimensions, so don’t assume it matches a particular lens or matte box without confirming the required sizing.
