SanDisk Optimus GX 7100 NVMe SSD 500GB

SanDisk Optimus GX 7100 NVMe SSD 500GB | A place for your files

When your files need a separate home, an external SSD gives you a straightforward place to keep them. The SanDisk Optimus GX 7100 is an NVMe SSD with 500GB of storage. That makes it a sensible fit for a defined set of files rather than an open-ended archive: for example, a current project or a collection you want to keep together. It’s the capacity and external-SSD format that are clear here; I wouldn’t choose it on assumed speed or connectivity details. If you’re comparing storage, start with the amount of space you actually need and how you plan to use the drive. For someone looking to add a 500GB external SSD to their storage options, this model puts those key details right in its name.

A simple way to plan your storage

Before setting up any drive, it helps to decide what you want it to hold. A single project, a selected group of files or a personal collection can each give the storage a clear purpose. Keeping that purpose in mind makes it easier to judge whether 500GB suits your needs, instead of treating capacity as an abstract number. You can also decide how you want to arrange the files, so the drive has a job from the start. Those are practical choices about your own workflow, rather than extra features to assume about this SanDisk. Its stated identity is straightforward: an external SSD, with NVMe storage and a 500GB capacity.
