Leofoto FA-07 4 In 1 Hot Shoe Adapter | Trigger off-camera flash for portraits

Leofoto FA-07 4 In 1 Hot Shoe Adapter is a 4-in-1 hot shoe adapter made to work as a flash trigger and transmitter. It suits photographers who want to fire an off-camera flash for portraits or product shots, rather than keep the flash on the camera. Moving the light gives you more say in its direction: for a portrait, place the flash to one side of the subject; for a product, angle it across the object to bring out its shape. The FA-07 is intended for these straightforward off-camera lighting setups, at home or in a studio. Its role is specific: it triggers a flash away from the camera. It isn’t a light source itself, so you’ll need an off-camera flash as well.

A practical way to use it

For a portrait, start with the flash beside the subject and adjust its angle until the light falls where you want it. For a product photograph, try aiming the flash across the object rather than straight at its front; the direction can help show its contours. The FA-07 gives you the trigger/transmitter role in that arrangement. Keep the setup simple at first: change the flash position and watch how the light on your subject changes.

Specialist Note

A small product sits on a tabletop, and the light needs to come from the side rather than the camera position. That’s where this Leofoto’s transmitter role earns its place: it fires an off-camera flash, so you can work with light coming from a different direction. The hot shoe adapter format makes it part of the camera-side trigger setup, while the flash itself does the lighting. I’d point it toward photographers working on portraits or product images who want to move their flash off-camera. One honest point: the FA-07 triggers the light; it doesn’t shape the light on its own, so your flash position still does the creative work.
