Tilta MB-T17-S95 Mirage Pro Matte Box Starter Kit 95mm Backing
Tilta MB-T17-S95 Mirage Pro Matte Box Starter Kit 95mm Backing | A 95mm-backed matte box starting point
When a bright window or a practical light sits just outside the frame, a matte box gives you a dedicated way to shade the lens and help manage stray light. The Tilta MB-T17-S95 Mirage Pro Matte Box Starter Kit is a lens accessory built around a 95mm backing, making that size the key detail to consider when planning your setup. It suits filmmakers and camera teams who want a matte box as part of a considered lens-front arrangement, rather than relying on a hand held out of frame. The “Starter Kit” name makes it a starting point in the Mirage Pro range; it doesn’t tell us which individual parts are included, so we haven’t assumed any. If you’re choosing this version, make sure the 95mm backing suits the setup you intend to use. That sizing detail is more useful than a broad promise of compatibility: it gives you a concrete point to plan around.
Specialist Note
The Tilta MB-T17-S95 gives you a dedicated matte-box way to shade the lens, rather than asking someone to hold a hand in just the right place outside frame. The 95mm backing is the detail I’d settle first: plan your lens-front setup around that size, and don’t treat this as a universal backing. As a Starter Kit, it’s a sensible place to begin if you’re building around the Mirage Pro name. For an interview with a bright window near the edge of frame, or an interior with a practical light close to the shot, a matte box can help control stray light at the lens. It’s best suited to a setup already planned around 95mm.
