Epson SureColor SC-P20000 64inch 2400x1200 DPI

Epson SureColor SC-P20000 64inch 2400x1200 DPI | Large-format photo printing

The 64-inch format defines this printer: it’s intended for photo work where prints need to go well beyond everyday sizes. The Epson SureColor SC-P20000 is a photo printer for photographers, studios and print businesses handling large-format output. Its listed resolution is 2400 x 1200 DPI, giving you a specific figure to consider when comparing printers for detailed image work. The size is the main point here, though. If your work is mostly small prints, a 64-inch printer may be more than you need; if large images are central to your output, that format is the reason to look closely at this model. It’s a specialist tool with a clear purpose, rather than an all-round printer aimed at occasional home use.

Choosing the right format

Think first about the prints you actually plan to make and the space your workflow gives them. A 64-inch designation points to a printer built around large-format work, so it makes most sense when the scale of the finished image matters. The 2400 x 1200 DPI figure is another useful reference when weighing up image detail, but it doesn’t tell the whole story of a print on its own. For a considered purchase, match the printer’s format to the sizes you produce regularly, rather than choosing on resolution alone. If your brief is large photo output, the SC-P20000 gives you a clearly stated format and resolution to assess against that work.
