Godox Grid For AD-S65S: Control spill for selective lighting
More controlled light and less spill around your subject: the Godox Grid For AD-S65S is a foldable fabric grid for the AD-S65S softbox. It narrows the softbox’s beam, so the light falls over a more limited area instead of spreading as widely. That makes it useful when you’re lighting one part of a scene selectively, keeping light off nearby areas, or directing illumination toward a chosen subject. The grid also eliminates stray light, which matters when spill would brighten parts of the scene you want to keep out of the light. Its construction is simple and specific: a black fabric accessory made for the AD-S65S. It’s not a general-purpose softbox modifier, so its appeal comes down to a clear benefit for owners of that softbox: more directed control over where its light goes.
Why it is useful
- Made for the AD-S65S: This grid is specified for use with the Godox AD-S65S softbox. That specific fit keeps the accessory’s purpose clear: it controls light from that softbox rather than serving as a universal modifier.
- Foldable fabric construction: The grid is made from fabric and folds for storage. It adds a light-control accessory to the AD-S65S setup without changing the softbox itself.
- Narrower beam: A grid restricts the spread of the softbox’s light. Use that narrower coverage when you want illumination to stay concentrated on a selected part of the scene.
- Less stray light: The grid is intended to eliminate spill from the softbox. That’s useful when light reaching surrounding areas would interfere with the selective lighting you’re setting up.
- Selective lighting control: By narrowing the beam and reducing spill, the grid gives you more directed control over where the AD-S65S illuminates. It’s suited to lighting a chosen subject or area rather than spreading light broadly.
- Black finish: The grid is black. This identifies the supplied fabric accessory and keeps the description straightforward: its main purpose is controlling the light beam.
