LaCie D2 Professional 24TB 3.5IN USB-C USB 3.1

LaCie D2 Professional 24TB 3.5IN USB-C USB 3.1 | Keep a large archive in one place

Without a dedicated drive, a growing photo or video archive can end up spread across several storage devices. The LaCie D2 Professional gives you one external HDD with 24TB of capacity, so it’s suited to photographers, studios and other creators who need room to keep a substantial collection together. Its 3.5-inch size and USB-C connection are part of the product’s specific setup; the title also identifies USB 3.1. This is the kind of drive to consider for storing a large body of finished work, original files or project material, rather than for adding a little extra space for occasional documents. One honest point: a single drive is still a single place for your files. If the archive matters, plan how you’ll keep a separate copy too.

Capacity is most helpful when you have a clear way to use it. You might group projects by year, client or subject, then keep the folder structure consistent as the archive grows. That makes it easier to find a particular shoot later, and gives you a straightforward place to put material you don’t need on your computer every day. The LaCie’s 24TB capacity makes that sort of long-term organisation its clearest appeal.

It’s also worth choosing a drive for the job you actually have. If you’re looking to hold a sizeable collection in one external HDD, this model is aimed at that need. If you’re comparing drives for a particular computer or workflow, make sure the connection and software requirements suit your setup before deciding; no single capacity figure tells you how quickly your own files will fill the drive. The useful question is simple: do you need a large place to keep an archive together?
