Sekonic RT-BR Broncolor Transmitter (2.4GHz)
Sekonic RT-BR Broncolor Transmitter (2.4GHz) | Trigger off-camera Broncolor flash
For portraits with light placed away from the camera, the Sekonic RT-BR Broncolor Transmitter gives you a way to fire your flash remotely. It’s a 2.4GHz flash trigger for photographers working with Broncolor equipment, especially when the light needs to come from beside or behind the subject rather than from the camera position. That makes it well suited to portrait sessions and product photography, where moving the flash can change how shape, texture and shadow appear in the frame. Set your flash where you want the light to fall, then use the transmitter to trigger it as you take the picture. The RT-BR is a focused tool for a specific job: sending the trigger to an off-camera flash. If your lighting setup calls for flash placement beyond the camera, it can help keep that placement practical while you work.
Specialist Note
The RT-BR gives you a straightforward way to trigger Broncolor flash away from the camera, rather than keeping the light in the camera position. Its 2.4GHz radio operation is the key detail: the transmitter sends the firing signal by radio, so the flash can be placed where it suits the picture. For a portrait, put the flash to one side of your subject and trigger it with the RT-BR to bring out facial shape with directional light. For a small product, try placing the flash off to the side to show surface texture, then adjust the light position to change the shadows. It’s a trigger, not a light-shaping tool, so you’ll still decide where the flash goes and how it illuminates the subject.
