7Artisans 55mm MRCUV Filter
7Artisans 55mm MRCUV Filter | Add a UV filter to a 55mm lens
A UV filter gives you a simple way to place a filter in front of a lens with a 55mm filter thread. This 7Artisans model is for photographers who want a UV filter as part of their everyday lens setup, without adding a more creative effect to the image. UV filters are intended to filter ultraviolet light; the visible result can depend on the scene and the camera system, so it’s best to think of this as a straightforward, purpose-specific filter rather than an image-making effect. The 55mm size is the key detail when choosing it: it needs to match the filter thread on the lens you plan to use. If you want a UV filter for a 55mm-thread lens, this keeps the choice simple. It’s a practical option for daylight photography when you want UV filtration in front of the lens.
Specialist Note
55mm is the filter-thread size, so in practice this is for a lens marked 55mm at the front—not a general fit across your kit. The UV designation tells you its specific job: filtering ultraviolet light, rather than adding a dramatic colour or exposure effect. I’d consider it for straightforward outdoor photography, where you want that kind of filtration in place while you shoot. Fit it to a matching 55mm lens and keep the setup simple. One point to bear in mind: this isn’t a creative-effect filter, so don’t expect it to change the look of a scene in the way a specialist effect filter would.
