7Artisans 62mm VND1.5-8 Filter
7Artisans 62mm VND1.5-8 Filter | Adjust light in changing conditions
Bright scenes become easier to expose when you can reduce the light reaching your lens without swapping filters. The 7Artisans 62mm VND1.5-8 Filter is a variable neutral density filter: turn its density through the marked 1.5–8 range to control how much light enters. That makes it useful when you want more say over exposure in daylight, including when filming or making photographs in changing light. It suits photographers and videographers whose lens takes a 62mm filter and who prefer to adjust one filter rather than carry several fixed-density options. The main appeal is flexibility: you can fine-tune light reduction as conditions shift, instead of being limited to one density. It’s a focused accessory, though; the 62mm size is for lenses with a matching filter thread.
Specialist Note
62mm is the filter size, so the practical first step is matching it to the thread on your lens. The VND1.5-8 marking gives you an adjustable density range; in bright daylight, that lets you reduce incoming light to manage exposure without changing filters mid-session. I’d recommend it to someone filming outdoors or photographing a scene where the light varies and they want to adjust density as they go. Keep in mind that the size is specific: it’s suited to a 62mm lens thread, not a universal fit. For that matching lens, the variable range is the reason to choose this filter.
