7Artisans 7.5mm f/2.8 MkII Fujifilm X-Mount | APS-C
7Artisans 7.5mm f/2.8 MkII Fujifilm X-Mount | APS-C | A sweeping view for bold compositions
The 7Artisans 7.5mm f/2.8 MkII is an ultra-wide prime with a 124° angle of view, built for Fujifilm X photographers who want to fit an expansive scene into the frame. Its APS-C coverage makes it a natural match for Fujifilm X bodies. It’s a manual-focus lens suited to landscape, architecture and astro photography, where a broad view can bring foreground and surroundings together in one image. Use it for a dramatic sweep of a coastline, a close architectural detail with plenty of setting around it, or a wide view of the night sky. The fisheye character gives these scenes a distinctive perspective rather than the restrained look of a conventional wide-angle lens. If you enjoy composing deliberately and working with that effect, this compact focal length opens up creative framing options.
With a fisheye, where you place the camera matters: moving close to a foreground subject can make it feel much larger against the scene behind it. That can be striking with rocks, building details or plants, but it also means straight architectural lines may curve in the frame. For formal building views where you want lines to remain straight, choose your framing with care—or consider whether a fisheye look is right for the result you have in mind.
Specialist Note
At dusk, a roofline meets a deepening sky, and this 7Artisans has a clear role: it can take in both the building and the space around it. I’d suggest it to Fujifilm X users who enjoy shaping a frame by hand, especially for architecture or night-sky compositions. The f/2.8 maximum aperture gives you room to work in dimmer light; for astro, start wide open and adjust exposure to suit the scene. Manual focus rewards a careful setup rather than a quick grab shot. Its roughly 11.3mm full-frame-equivalent view is very broad, so watch the edges if you want buildings to look natural.
