Keeping camera feeds visible, switched and recorded across separate devices adds clutter to a production setup. The Atomos Shogun AV-19 brings those jobs together in a 19-inch QLED monitor-recorder-switcher, with a 1200-nit screen for viewing on location. It’s made for production teams that need a larger monitoring surface and a direct route from camera signal to recorded files. For outdoor work, the bright display supports HDR review in PQ and HLG, while waveform, vectorscope and false-colour tools give you detailed ways to assess exposure and colour. On a multi-camera shoot, the Quad-Link SDI system switches between four 1080p60 sources and records each feed as an ISO file, keeping separate camera angles available for the edit. For cinema workflows, it records 12-bit RAW up to 4K 60p in ProRes RAW from compatible cameras including the Sony FX6 and Canon C-series models. That combination makes the AV-19 relevant to live production and higher-end camera recording, rather than monitoring alone. It’s a substantial unit, but the integrated switching and recording functions replace several separate tasks at the production desk.

Production Highlights

• Full-HD QLED panel: The 1920 × 1080 display gives operators a large image to assess on set or at a production position. Dynamic zone backlighting supports control of the screen’s brightness across different areas.
• HDR and exposure tools: Waveforms, vectorscopes and false colour provide technical checks alongside the image. These tools are useful when judging exposure and colour on a larger monitor.
• Four SDI connections: The unit has four 12G/3G-SDI inputs for connecting camera feeds. HDMI 2.0 input and output add another connection option for compatible equipment.
• RAW recording: Record up to 12-bit 4K 60p ProRes RAW from supported cameras such as the Sony FX6 and Canon C-series. This provides a high-resolution RAW option for cinema production.
• Editing codecs: Record to SSD in Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHR formats. Both are established post-production codecs, so the files are ready to take into an editing workflow.
• SSD media options: The Shogun AV-19 accepts 2.5-inch SSDs and AtomX SSDmini media. Choose compatible storage according to the length and format of your recordings.
• Professional XLR audio: Two XLR connections provide 48V phantom power for external microphones. Audio can be recorded alongside the camera picture on the same system.

Good to know

The Shogun AV-19 weighs 5.5 kg and measures 50.4 × 31.0 × 6.3 cm, so allow space for it at a workstation or in a rack setup. An additional battery and SSD are recommended accessories, but they are not included in the box. The supplied rack nuts and bolts are useful when fitting the monitor into a compatible rack arrangement.
