Caruba Face Enhance Arc-Shaped Reflector 180cm X 65cm

Caruba Face Enhance Arc-Shaped Reflector 180cm X 65cm | A shaped reflector for portrait work

When a portrait subject’s face needs a little more attention in the light, a reflector can help you guide existing light back towards them. The Caruba Face Enhance is an arc-shaped reflector measuring 180 by 65 cm, with a shape and name aimed at work with faces. It’s suited to portrait photographers who want a reflector in their lighting setup, whether they’re working in a studio or making portraits on location. The useful point here is the combination of an arc shape and a tall, narrow profile; it gives you a distinct form to place around a subject rather than a plain rectangular panel. In practice, placement matters more than complicated technique: move it around the subject and watch how the light changes. That hands-on adjustment is part of the job, so expect to spend a moment finding the position that suits the scene.

Working with it

Start by looking at the light already falling on the face. Then try placing the reflector where it can return some of that light towards the areas you want to brighten. Small changes in angle and distance can make a visible difference, so take a few test frames rather than settling on the first position. The arc-shaped design gives you a particular outline to work with, but the best placement depends on the subject and the light in your scene. For a simple portrait setup, keep your attention on the face and adjust until the result looks balanced. It’s a straightforward approach, and the reflector’s dimensions make it worth considering when you want a full-height option in your portrait kit.
