DZOFILM Vespid PRIME2 18mm PL

DZOFilm Vespid Prime 2 18mm T1.9 PL: A Versatile Choice for Cinematographers

The DZOFilm Vespid Prime 2 18mm T1.9 PL lens is expertly crafted for filmmakers seeking high-quality wide-angle shots without sacrificing performance during their setup. With an expansive field of view and a consistent T1.9 aperture, this lens excels in capturing spatial scenes where both the environment and subjects play a crucial role.

Its significant light-gathering capability provides added versatility in low-light conditions and enhances creative depth of field control. The optical design features 15 elements organized into 12 groups, including aspherical elements that efficiently minimize distortion, chromatic aberration, and loss of contrast. This leads to crisp, focused images throughout the frame, delivering consistent color reproduction that seamlessly integrates with other focal lengths in the Vespid Prime 2 series, allowing for effortless lens switching without any noticeable difference in aesthetics.

Thanks to floating elements in its design, this lens also maintains excellent optical quality at close focus distances. With a minimal focusing distance of just 0.25 meters, filmmakers can achieve striking wide shots with pronounced foreground detail. Coupled with minimal focus breathing, the lens ensures stability during focus pulls, making it ideal for dynamic shots and narrative filmmaking.

Mechanically, the lens is finely tuned for professional cinematography. The PL mount supports Cooke i metadata, allowing real-time lens information to be communicated to compatible cameras and post-production software. The manual focus offers an expansive 300-degree rotation for precise adjustments, while the compact and uniform build facilitates easy integration with rigs, matte boxes, and gimbals.
