Eminent Black 5 Meter U/UTP CaT6 Patch Cable w/ RJ45 Connectors

Eminent Black 5 Meter U/UTP CaT6 Patch Cable w/ RJ45 Connectors | A five-metre link for a neater network run

When the network connection is further away than a short lead can reach, positioning a device neatly can become awkward. This Eminent patch cable gives you a five-metre cable run, with RJ45 connectors at the ends, for connecting equipment in a network setup. It’s a straightforward option for a home, office or work area where you need a cable rather than a wireless connection. The black finish may also sit more discreetly alongside dark furniture or other cables. Its U/UTP Cat6 description identifies the cable type; the product title gives no further performance details, so I’d choose it for the stated length and connector type rather than assume anything beyond that. Before routing it, consider where both ends need to reach. That simple check can save you from finding the cable comes up short once it’s in place.

Plan the route

Five metres gives you a definite length to work with, so think about the path between the two connection points rather than measuring only the straight-line gap. Allow for the way the cable needs to travel around furniture or along a wall, and leave enough room at each end for the connectors to reach comfortably. If you’re tidying an existing setup, deciding where the cable will run first can help keep it out of the way and make the finished layout easier to manage. A patch cable is a practical part of the setup, but it won’t solve a mismatch between the connector and the socket on your equipment. The useful checks are simple: confirm the required reach and make sure RJ45 is the connector type your endpoints need.
