FALCAM Geartree Extension COLUMN.1M 2759
FALCAM Geartree Extension COLUMN.1M 2759 | Add one metre of reach
A camera position that needs to sit higher than your tripod allows is where an extension column can earn its place. The FALCAM Geartree Extension COLUMN.1M 2759 is a tripod accessory, named for a one-metre column extension. It’s intended for photographers who need more height from a tripod setup, for example when framing a tabletop scene from above or clearing nearby objects from the camera’s view. The extra reach can give you more room to position the camera without changing the subject or moving the whole setup. Its role is specific: it extends a tripod arrangement, rather than acting as a standalone support. If your usual camera position is already at a comfortable height, you may not need that extra length; it’s most relevant when the setup repeatedly comes up short.
Where the extra reach helps
Think about the shot you want before adding height. For a tabletop composition, raising the camera can help you frame the whole scene from above; for a subject behind an obstruction, more height may clear the view. Set the tripod where you need it first, then use the column to adjust the camera position. Because this is an extension accessory, it makes most sense as part of a tripod setup that needs more reach, not as a replacement for one.
Specialist Note
The one-metre column changes the camera’s working height substantially, so I’d consider it when your tripod setup keeps leaving the viewpoint too low. As an extension column, its job is to raise the camera position; that can be useful for overhead tabletop framing or for clearing a low obstruction without shifting the subject. Start with the tripod placed securely, then set the camera at the height your composition needs. The extra metre is also a long lever, so keep the setup carefully balanced, especially at full extension. It suits photographers with a recurring need for more height, rather than anyone who only wants a compact tripod accessory.
