Formatt Hitech 105mm Circular Polarizer (For 100mm Holder)
Formatt Hitech 105mm Circular Polarizer (For 100mm Holder) | Reduce reflections and control glare
Reflections on water or glass can be reduced, while a blue sky can gain more depth, with the Formatt Hitech 105mm Circular Polarizer. It’s made for photographers using a 100mm holder who want to adjust polarized light while composing, rather than rely on editing to manage every reflection. Turn the filter and watch the view change; the effect depends on the angle of the light, so small adjustments matter. It’s especially useful for landscapes with water, or scenes where glare is distracting from the subject. A polarizer can also affect the sky unevenly across a wide view, so check the whole frame as you adjust it. This is a focused tool for controlling reflections and sky tone in the moment, with its 105mm format intended for a 100mm holder setup.
Specialist Note
105mm is the filter size, so this is a substantial circular polarizer intended to work with a 100mm holder—not a small filter you add directly to a lens. If you already use that holder format, it gives you a way to manage glare as you compose. I’d use it for reflective water or shop windows: turn the polarizer slowly and stop when the distracting reflection has eased without losing detail you want to keep. It can also deepen a blue sky, though the effect depends on the light’s direction and can look uneven across a wide scene. That’s worth checking before you make the frame.
