Freewell Neo 2 Glow Mist 1/4 Magnetic Filter | Add a gentle glow to bright highlights

For aerial footage with bright points of light, a diffusion filter can soften the crisp look of highlights and give them a gentle glow. The Freewell Neo 2 Glow Mist 1/4 Magnetic Filter is a magnetic drone filter with a 1/4-strength Glow Mist effect. It suits drone owners who want city lights, sunlit reflections or backlit details to feel more atmospheric without changing the scene itself. The 1/4 designation gives you a specific strength to work with; the filter’s purpose is a deliberate visual effect, not a neutral rendering. Try it in dusk footage or in shots where small, bright highlights are part of the composition. If you want every scene to look completely crisp and neutral, this is a stylistic filter to use selectively rather than an automatic fit.

When the effect helps

Look for scenes with bright details against darker surroundings: streetlights after sunset, reflections on water or a backlit subject. Those highlights give the Glow Mist effect something to work with. In a flatly lit scene without bright points, the effect may be less noticeable, so the filter is best chosen for the look you want in a particular shot.

Specialist Note

Bright highlights can make drone footage feel more clinical than the scene itself; this filter is intended to soften that impression. I’d consider it for a dusk city pass or a backlit rooftop view, keeping lamps or bright windows in the frame so the Glow Mist look has highlights to affect. The magnetic format is a defining part of this filter, so it’s worth choosing when you want a magnetic filter setup. Its 1/4 strength gives you a specified level of the effect to work with. It’s a stylistic option, though: for footage where crisp, neutral detail is the priority, leave the effect out.
