GREEN.L CPL 52mm
GREEN.L CPL 52mm | Tame reflections and deepen skies
Without a polarizing filter, reflections on water, glass and glossy leaves can take over a scene; a CPL gives you a way to reduce them and manage the look of a bright sky. The GREEN.L CPL 52mm is a polarizing filter in the 52mm size, suited to photographers whose lens accepts that filter size and who want more control over reflected light in the frame. It’s especially useful for landscapes with a broad sky, or for making details behind a shop window easier to see. Turn the filter while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen, and watch the reflection change; the effect depends on your angle to the light. It won’t remove every reflection, and it isn’t a general-purpose brightness or exposure fix. Think of it as a specific tool for scenes where glare is getting in the way.
Specialist Note
At a lens with a 52mm filter thread, I’d reach for this when a pond’s surface is hiding the colour beneath it. The 52mm size is the fit to check against your lens, while CPL identifies it as a circular polarizing filter. Turn it slowly as you frame the water; that lets you judge how much reflection to keep rather than removing it blindly. It also suits bright landscape scenes when you want to deepen the sky, with the filter’s angle to the light making a real difference. One limitation: the effect varies across the scene, so a very wide view may show uneven sky darkening.
