H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 55-77mm
H&Y EVO-Series Lens Adapter Step-up Ring 55-77mm | Use 77mm filters on a 55mm thread
What sets this ring apart is its clearly defined step-up: it connects a 55mm lens filter thread to a 77mm filter size. That makes it useful if you own 77mm filters and have a lens with a 55mm thread, and would rather use the filters you already have than buy another size. Its job is focused: provide this change in filter size. It doesn’t alter the lens or offer additional controls. For a protection setup, it gives you a way to mount a 77mm protection filter on a lens with a 55mm thread. The key is matching those two sizes; this isn’t a universal fit for lenses or filters with other thread diameters. Choose it for the specific 55-to-77mm step, then select a filter according to the kind of protection you want. It’s a simple solution to a specific filter-size mismatch.
Specialist Note
77mm is the filter-side size, so this ring lets a lens with a smaller thread take a filter made for that larger size. I’d point it out to anyone who already owns a 77mm protection filter and wants to use it on a lens with a 55mm thread: attach the ring at the lens, then fit the filter to the ring. The step-up design is the important detail here; it moves from the smaller lens thread to the larger filter size, rather than the other way around. Its limit is equally specific: it bridges these sizes only, so it won’t solve a different thread mismatch. For the exact size change, it’s refreshingly straightforward.
