Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 188GSM 61cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 188GSM 61cmx12m | A wide format for photo prints

For photographic prints that need room across the page, this 61cm-wide format gives you space to plan larger images without working from a small sheet. Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 188GSM 61cmx12m is photo paper named Photo Rag, supplied in a 188gsm weight and a 12m length. It suits photographers and printmakers planning their own print sizes, especially when a project calls for several prints made from a continuous length of paper. The width is the key number to consider first: it sets the maximum paper width available before trimming. Then the 12m length gives you room to work out how much paper each print will use. It’s a straightforward format to assess against your image dimensions and print plan; there’s no need to guess at the basic size.

Planning your print sizes

Before starting a print run, lay out the finished dimensions you have in mind and compare them with the 61cm width. Remember to allow for any border or trimming you plan to include, since that uses part of the available width. For the length, add the planned paper length for each print and consider how much you want to leave between pieces for cutting. The total available is 12m, so your print count will depend on the size of each image and those margins. That simple calculation can help you decide whether this format suits a single large print or a group of smaller ones. The 188gsm figure is useful when comparing paper by weight; it’s a specific number, rather than a general description. If you already know your intended print dimensions, those measurements are the best starting point for judging the fit.
