Hahnemühle DFA Torchon 285GSM 111.8cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA Torchon 285GSM 111.8cmx12m | Paper for wide-format printing

Loose sheets are straightforward for one-off prints; a roll makes more sense when you want to plan a run around a continuous length of paper. Hahnemühle DFA Torchon is a printer-paper roll measuring 111.8 cm across and 12 m long, with a weight of 285 gsm. It suits printmakers and studios whose workflow calls for roll-format paper and whose planned work fits within that width. Its clearest strength is the combination of a broad roll and a substantial amount of paper in one length, rather than a set of pre-cut sheets. That gives you room to plan different print lengths from the same roll. One practical point: roll stock rewards a little measuring before you start, especially if you need consistent margins or want to keep offcuts down.

Planning around a paper roll

Before a print run, lay out the intended image sizes and consider how each one will be positioned across the paper. That’s a simple way to estimate how much stock a job may use and where trimming will leave offcuts. It’s also worth thinking about the order of your prints: grouping similar dimensions can make the roll easier to use efficiently. These are workflow considerations, not a claim about how the paper renders an image. The product name identifies the paper as DFA Torchon, but that alone isn’t a reason to assume a particular surface effect or look. Choose it on the basis of the roll format, its stated weight and the dimensions you need for your own print plans. If your work is set up around individual sheets, the roll format may call for a different way of organising the job.
