Hama Network Cable CAT-5E 1 GBIT/s F/UTP Afgeschermd 1.50 M

Hama CAT-5E Shielded F/UTP Network Cable, 1.50 m | A compact wired network link

What sets this Hama cable apart is the combination of a short run and a shielded F/UTP design, with a stated speed of 1 Gbit/s. It suits anyone who needs a direct wired network connection nearby, rather than extra cable to coil or route out of the way. At 1.50 m, it can work for a tidy connection between network points that sit close together. The CAT-5E rating makes its purpose clear: this is a cable for network connections, not a general-purpose lead. Its stated 1 Gbit/s speed is useful when choosing a cable for a gigabit network, though the speed you get also depends on the connected equipment and network. In everyday use, the practical advantage is simple: you can make a short wired connection without leaving a long spare length trailing across a desk or floor.

Choosing a cable length

Before you choose a network cable, think about where the connection starts and where it needs to end. A shorter cable is easier to keep neat when those points are close, but it leaves less room to move equipment later. This one is best considered for a fixed, nearby connection rather than a route that needs to travel around a room. Measure the path you plan to use, including any turns around furniture, so the cable can reach without being pulled tight. That small check can save an awkward fit once your network equipment is in place. It’s a straightforward detail, but cable length matters most when the connection point is tucked behind a desk or cabinet.
