Hama Power Cord Aan Both Sides Angled Euro-Plug Double Groef/C7 5 M ZW. | Reach a socket farther from your device

When the power point is farther away than your existing lead can reach, placing a device where you need it becomes awkward. This Hama power cord gives you a 5-metre connection, so you have more room to position a device near a suitable socket. It has a Euro plug at one end and a C7 connector at the other, with both ends angled. The C7 end is for equipment with a matching inlet; the double-groove description identifies that connector style. Its black finish is easy to keep unobtrusive beside dark equipment. This is a straightforward cable for a setup where reach is the problem, rather than a cable with extra functions. The useful point is the length; the connector shapes still need to suit the sockets at either end.

Planning the cable route

Before you choose a longer lead, measure the route it will actually take from the socket to the equipment. Allow for the path around furniture or along a wall, rather than measuring only the straight-line distance. That small step helps avoid discovering that the cable comes up short once it’s in place. Think about where the lead will lie, too: a route kept clear of regular foot traffic is easier to live with. The angled ends can be helpful where a straight plug would project awkwardly, though the best fit depends on the position and shape of the sockets. Match the connector to the equipment’s inlet and the plug to the wall socket. Simple, but worth getting right.
