Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Rag GGFR 17inch-43.2cm X 15m 1ROL

Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Rag GGFR 17inch-43.2cm X 15m 1ROL | Photo paper in a 15-metre roll

The useful distinction with the Ilford Galerie Gold Fibre Rag GGFR is its roll format: the title gives a width of 17 inches (43.2 cm) and a length of 15 metres. That makes it relevant to photographers and printmakers planning photo prints from a continuous paper roll, rather than shopping for sheets. It’s best suited to someone who has a particular print width in mind and wants the roll length stated clearly when comparing paper options. The name identifies the paper as Galerie Gold Fibre Rag, but the supplied product information gives no further detail about its surface or paper characteristics, so I won’t guess at those. If you’re selecting paper for a specific look, that distinction matters. What can be relied on here is the named product and its stated roll dimensions.

Choosing the roll format

For a practical buying decision, start with the width your planned prints require, then consider how much paper you expect to use. The stated 17-inch width gives you a clear measurement to work from; the 15-metre length helps you judge the amount on the roll. That’s useful when estimating a run of prints, though the number you’ll get depends on the sizes you print and how you handle the paper between images. GGFR is included in the product name, which can help distinguish this listing when searching for the same named paper. I’d keep the product name handy when comparing options: paper names can be specific, and a matching width alone doesn’t tell you that two products are the same. This listing is for one roll of photo paper. There’s no need to infer a paper weight, finish or printer fit from the name alone.
