Ilford Matt Cotton Medina 320GSM A3 297x420mm 25SHEETS

Ilford Matt Cotton Medina 320GSM A3 297x420mm 25SHEETS | Matte paper for considered photo prints

Choosing photo paper can be frustrating when you’re unsure how its surface and size will suit the print you have in mind. This Ilford paper is a matte cotton option in A3, with a stated weight of 320gsm and 25 sheets in the pack. It suits anyone planning larger prints who wants a matte presentation rather than a glossy one. The name also identifies the paper as Medina, so you can keep that in mind when comparing paper choices. Its strongest fit is a print where the matte finish and substantial stated weight are part of the intended look and feel. There’s no need to make every image A3; this format makes more sense when the photograph or artwork benefits from room to breathe. If you’re preparing a small print run, a pack of 25 gives you a defined quantity to work with.

Choosing a print for this paper

Start with the image, not just the sheet. A3 gives a photograph or artwork a larger canvas, so consider how the subject sits within the frame and whether you want a border around it. A close crop can feel quite different from a composition with open space, even when both use the same image. Matte is a clear choice in the product name; think about whether that finish suits the way you want the print to be viewed. For a set of related images, planning the layout and presentation before printing can help the finished pieces feel consistent. It’s also sensible to prepare a test print before committing to a full run, particularly when you’re still deciding on crop or placement.
