Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Fix (12)

Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Fix (12) - Fixer for 12 black-and-white film rolls

Move your black-and-white negatives from development to the fixing stage with Ilford Simplicity Film Dealer Fix (12), a pack of 12 measured sachets. The liquid concentrate is suitable for all black-and-white films, and each sachet contains the amount for fixing two 35mm rolls or one 120 roll in a 600 ml, two-reel developing tank. Used at a 1:5 dilution, it gives home darkroom users a clearly portioned supply for routine film processing, whether they’re working with 35mm or medium-format rolls. The single-sachet format is the detail that makes this pack different: you can prepare a working quantity for a tank session instead of measuring from a larger bottle. It contains Ilford Rapid Fixer, so it’s important to keep fixer hardeners out of the process. For anyone building up a supply of black-and-white darkroom chemistry, this is a focused pack of fixer rather than a mixed starter kit.

Why it is useful

• Measured liquid concentrate: Each sachet holds a set portion of fixer concentrate. That keeps the product in a handy single-use format rather than requiring you to portion concentrate from a bulk container.
• Rapid Fixer formula: Simplicity Film Fixer contains Ilford Rapid Fixer. You know which fixer chemistry you’re working with when selecting it for a black-and-white film routine.
• No fixer hardeners: This fixer must not be used with hardeners. That restriction matters when choosing chemistry for your processing sequence, so keep it in mind when combining products.
• For black-and-white film: The stated compatibility covers all black-and-white films. It’s a dedicated film fixer, not a general-purpose darkroom chemical.

Good to know

For preparation, pour the sachet into a separate measuring beaker, add water to the required final volume and stir well. Ilford’s supplied instructions specify water at the appropriate temperature as part of the preparation. Mixing instructions and fixing times are covered in the technical data sheet; consult it for the details relevant to your film and process. The product information also places fixer within the usual develop, stop, fix and rinse sequence.
