JJC Camera Release Cable Cable 2535 | Trigger your camera remotely by cable

Without a remote release, you have to press the camera’s shutter button yourself. The JJC Camera Release Cable Cable 2535 is a cable release in the Remote Control category, for photographers who want to trigger a camera without using that button directly. It’s especially suited to a camera set up on a tripod: for a still-life composition, for example, you can frame the shot, keep the camera in place and use the cable release to take the picture. It can also help when you’re in the frame yourself, as long as you’re within the cable’s reach. The appeal here is straightforward: a physical cable provides the link for the release, rather than a wireless control. This is a focused accessory, not a broad remote-control system. If you want to trigger a camera from far away, a cable’s reach is a practical limit to keep in mind.

Specialist Note

For a tripod-mounted still life, I’d jot down “2535” with the rest of my setup details so I can identify this exact JJC cable release later. The cable is the key detail in how you use it: you trigger through a physical connection, so keep yourself within its reach rather than expecting to operate the camera from across a room. I’d also consider it for a self-portrait: compose the frame first, take your place, then use the release instead of reaching for the camera. It suits someone who wants a direct, cable-based way to trigger a camera. Its tethered nature is also its limit; it isn’t a wireless remote.
