Laowa 15mm T2.1 Cine Front Lens Cap
Laowa 15mm T2.1 Cine Front Lens Cap | Keep the front element covered
Laowa 15mm T2.1 Cine Front Lens Cap is the front cap for the Laowa 15mm T2.1 Cine lens, made for cine shooters who want to cover the lens between takes and while packing it away. Its job is simple: protect the front element when the lens isn’t in use. That makes it a practical addition for owner-operators, camera assistants and small production teams who move the lens between a camera, a case and a changing set. A front cap is most useful during those pauses, when the lens isn’t actively being used but may still be handled or stored. Keep it close at the workstation and replace it when the lens comes off camera; it’s a straightforward way to keep the front of this Laowa cine lens covered during routine handling. There’s no complicated setup to learn. This is a focused accessory for people who use this particular lens and want its front kept covered when they’re not filming.
Specialist Note
On a quiet interior set at wrap, the lens comes off the camera and this cap earns its place before the kit is packed. The 15mm focal length gives you a broad view for tight locations, so I’d keep the cap nearby during lens changes rather than leave the front exposed on a busy cart. T2.1 is a fast maximum aperture; that makes this a lens you may reach for when light is limited, and covering the front between takes is a sensible part of looking after it. It suits Laowa cine-lens owners who want a simple step for pauses and pack-down. Just remember, a cap protects the lens when it’s off camera, not while you’re filming.
