Leica M3 – 35mm Rangefinder Camera (Serial No. 897556, 1958)

The Leica M3 is considered one of the finest 35mm cameras ever built—a true benchmark in precision and quality. Produced in 1958, this example (Serial No. 897556) comes from a period when Leica had fully transitioned to the single-stroke advance, making it more efficient and smoother to operate than the earlier dual-stroke versions.

The M3 introduced the Leica M-mount, an incredibly precise bayonet system still used in Leica rangefinders today. Its 0.91× magnification viewfinder offers unparalleled clarity, especially when paired with 50mm, 90mm, and 135mm lenses.
