Marumi DHG UV Filter 82 mm
Marumi DHG UV Filter 82 mm | Filters UV light for outdoor scenes
Distant outdoor views can look hazy, and a UV filter is made to filter ultraviolet light that may contribute to that effect. The Marumi DHG UV Filter is an 82 mm filter for photographers who want this type of filter in front of a lens with a matching filter size. It suits landscape and travel photography, especially when you’re photographing far-off scenery in bright conditions. Its purpose is specific: filtering UV light, rather than changing colour or giving you the look of a polarising filter. That makes it a straightforward option if UV filtering is what you want. Keep expectations measured, though; it isn’t a general-purpose fix for every kind of haze or low contrast. The key practical detail is the 82 mm size, so match that to the marking on your lens before choosing it.
Specialist Note
A common slip with a first UV filter is choosing the size by the camera body; the 82 mm marking is the one to match to the lens’s filter diameter. That makes this Marumi a fit to consider for lenses marked 82 mm, not a universal camera accessory. For a mountain landscape or a distant city view, use it when you specifically want UV filtering; it won’t replace careful exposure or clear atmospheric conditions. The black colour is a frame detail, not an image control, so don’t expect it to alter your colours. I’d keep expectations modest on digital cameras: this filter has a defined UV-filtering role, not a dramatic contrast effect.
